Configure Hierarchy

Use these settings to manage the Warehouse Hierarchy within Cim200 Manufacturing modules.

Open: Stock Control > Stock Maintenance > Locations > Configure Hierarchy

Warehouse Hierarchy can be used to determine, for each manufacturing warehouse location, which other locations can be used to draw component stock. Once configured, the hierarchy will be used by Planning to determine available component stock, or when allocating or issuing stock in Works Orders.

Warehouse hierarchy is managed at item level, so setting changes to Warehouse hierarchies do not effect existing items unless they are applied to stock items.

The order in which warehouses are checked for stock can also be determined by assigning a priority number against each warehouse, and specifically for each item in the Stock Item Details screen.

  • Use this screen to set which component warehouses can be used to fulfil build demand for the selected warehouse
  • Select a build warehouse, then click Configure Hierarchy.
  • Tick the box next to each warehouse to select it as a valid source for the selected Warehouse.
  • Warehouse hierarchy is managed at item level, so these settings act just as a default when adding Warehouse locations to items in the future.
  • To also apply these selections to all existing items, click Apply to Stock Items.
  • To save changes without applying them to stock items, click Save.
  • To exit without saving, click Close.
