Edit Locations

Use these settings to manage the Warehouse Hierarchy within Cim200 Manufacturing modules.

Warehouse Hierarchy can be used to determine, for each manufacturing warehouse location, which other locations can be used to draw component stock. Once configured, the hierarchy will be used by Planning to determine available component stock, or when allocating or issuing stock in Works Orders.

Warehouse hierarchy is managed at item level, so setting changes to Warehouse hierarchies do not effect existing items unless they are applied to stock items.

The order in which warehouses are checked for stock can also be determined by assigning a priority number against each warehouse, and specifically for each item in the Stock Item Details screen.

Set Warehouse Priority

Open: Stock Control > Maintenance > Locations > Edit

Select from the following settings:

If Warehouse Hierarchy is in use for Works Orders and MRP, each warehouse location can be configured with a Priority number to set an order of preference for sourcing component stock, where a component item is stocked in multiple warehouse locations.

Select appropriate number in the Priority field to indicate the level of priority assigned to the warehouse. Component stock will be sourced from the item’s valid warehouses in order of lowest priority number first.

Note: The Priority number set here acts as a default; it can be overridden for each item through the Stock Item Details screen. Changing the priority here does not affect the priority number on items already setup with this location.
