Use Works Order Trial Kitting to check whether there is sufficient component stock to build your Works Orders. It identifies and displays any potential shortages.

Whilst Trial Kitting, there are several options which control how the process runs.

Use the Options button to view and manage these options; they are defaulted from corresponding settings on the Trial Kitting tab in the Bill of Materials Settings screen.

Trial Kitting Works Orders

Open: Works Orders > Works Order List

  • Select the works order(s) to be Trial Kitted.
  • Select the Trial Kitting button above the list view.

From the menu:

Open: Cim200 Works Orders > Enquiries > Trial Kitting

  •  In the Works Orders To Trial Kit area, set the order(s) to be trial kitted.

1. Click the Options button to view or change how the current Trial Kit runs.

  • The Options windows appears.

2. Configure the following options:

Treat Stock On-Order as available

  • Select this if you want to treat stock on order as available.

Note: Trial Kitting will treat this stock as available for every BOM that requires it during the trial kitting process.

Only show shortages

  • Select this if you want Trial Kitting to show only the shortages.
    • This is useful if you have a large number of components and you are only interested in seeing the shortages.

Report shortages for Components

  • If you have a stock item on a product group that allows negative stock, you can select this check box to show the shortages for the components.

Report shortages for Sub-Assemblies

  • If you have a stock item on a product group that allows negative stock, you can select this check box to show the shortages for the sub-assemblies.

Sub-Assemblies

  • Select Ignore Free Stock to ensure the system always builds sub-assemblies.
  • Select Only use Free Stock to ensure the system never builds sub-assemblies.
  • Select Build when Required to build sub-assemblies only when required.
    • This extends the component list to show sub-assembly components where there is a shortage of sub-assemblies in stock.

When shortages are found

  • Select whether to Continue, Stop Immediately or Stop after processing Works Order when you are trial kitting multiple Works Orders and shortages are encountered.
