Open: Works Orders > Works Order List

  • Select the Allocate Stock button above the list view.

From the menu:

Open: Works Orders > Processing > Allocate Stock

  • Select the Works Order Number from the drop-down list.

Manually Allocating Traceable Numbers

In Works Order Settings, not ticking Auto Pick Traceable Quantities on Allocation will mean the traceable numbers will not be selected automatically as the allocation is made; they must be selected manually using this screen.

1. In Works Order Settings, if Allocate/Issue as much as possible by default is selected, the Serial Details for Item… or Batch Details for Item… screen opens automatically for each traceable item that can be allocated.

2. For a serialised component, tick the box for each traceable number to be allocated, up to the Total Quantity to be allocated. Serial numbers already allocated elsewhere will be included, but will be indicated in the Allocated column, and cannot be selected.

For a batched component, tick the box and enter the Quantity to allocate on each line, up to the Total Quantity to be allocated. The quantity to allocate for each batch number cannot exceed the Qty Available.

Note: The quantity must be valid for the stocked unit of the item. If not, it is automatically adjusted to the nearest appropriate value.

3. Click OK to confirm the selection.

4. In Works Order Settings, if Allocate/Issue as much as possible by default is not selected, this screen will not open until a quantity is entered into the Allocate Now column.

5. Before saving the transaction, the allocated traceable numbers can be changed by selecting the component line and clicking the Select Traceability button.

Automatically Allocating Traceable Numbers

If, in Works Order Settings, Auto Pick Traceable Quantities on Allocation is selected, traceable numbers are selected automatically.

1. In Works Order Settings, if Allocate/Issue as much as possible by default is selected, each component will be automatically allocated as much as possible, including the traceable numbers.

2. If this setting is not selected, components will not be allocated until a quantity is entered into the Allocate Now column. Again, traceable numbers are then selected automatically.

3. Before saving the transaction, the allocated traceable numbers can be changed by selecting the component line and clicking the Select Traceability button.

4. Click OK to save the allocation.
