Sage 50 Manufacturing End of Life FAQs

Stock Control

In August 2020, CIM Software entered into an agreement with Sage that resulted in our Cim50 Manufacturing solution being the recommended and accredited manufacturing software package for Sage 50 Accounts and Sage’s recommended Sage 50 Manufacturing replacement.

As a result of this agreement, Sage also announced that they would move Sage 50 Manufacturing into an end-of-life process starting from 1st October 2020, with all support and services from Sage ending on 30th September 2021. This included the following Sage 50 Manufacturing variants:

  • Sage 50 Manufacturing Bill of Materials
  • Sage 50 Manufacturing Batch Controller
  • Sage 50 Manufacturing Job Controller
  • Sage 50 Manufacturing Manufacturing Controller
  • Sage 50 Manufacturing Operation Times.

Sage 50 Manufacturing End of Life FAQs

Will my Sage 50 Manufacturing Software continue to work beyond 30th September 2021?

Yes, Sage 50 Manufacturing will continue to work beyond 30th September 2021. However, as Sage have stopped testing and supporting the integration between Sage 50 Manufacturing and Sage 50 Accounts, due to compatibility issues Sage 50 Manufacturing users will not be able to upgrade to Version 28 or 28.1 of Sage 50 Accounts.

Is support still available for Sage 50 Manufacturing?

Yes, but with caveats.

CIM Software will continue to support you with your Sage 50 Manufacturing software for as long as needed on best endeavours basis.

Since the 30th September 2021, Sage no longer offer 2nd line support for Sage 50 Manufacturing. As such, there may be circumstances that arise from Windows upgrades/updates or from Sage upgrades that result in an issue occurring in the software that we may be unable to rectify.

Can I still purchase additional users for Sage 50 Manufacturing?

No, now that the product is End of Life, Sage will no longer accept any orders for this product.

Is there an alternative to Sage 50 Manufacturing?

Yes, Cim50 Manufacturing is the recommended and Sage accredited replacement for Sage 50 Manufacturing.

Why should I migrate to Cim50 Manufacturing?

Sage 50 Manufacturing has had very little development work carried out in the last decade and is running on obsolete technology, which is no longer supported by Microsoft. Cim50 Manufacturing does everything that your current Sage 50 Manufacturing does, but also adds over 100 additional features spread across each area of the software.

Based on customer and partner feedback, Cim50 Manufacturing is continually being developed with new features added to each new annual release.

Moreover, we have a migration tool available, allowing us to seamlessly move your data from Sage 50 Manufacturing to Cim50 Manufacturing with as little downtime as possible.

How much does Cim50 Manufacturing cost?

Cim50 is available on a monthly subscription basis, with the subscription cost varying depending on the modules and number of users you require. As a guide, the typical Cim50 cost is ~£295/€345 per month.

For Sage 50 Manufacturing users the modules can be made to match your Sage 50 Manufacturing Bill of Materials, Batch Controller, Job Controller, Manufacturing Controller and Operation Times accordingly.
