Hello and welcome to the August edition of the CIM Support newsletter.
The CIM Support newsletter has been put together to collate all supports calls from our customers and partners throughout the month. This gives us the insight required to suggest suitable resources to hopefully assist you in your day to day processing.
Having reviewed the support calls received during July 2021 we have found that the help guides below were the most common topics.
Sage 50 Accounts
The Sage 50cloud Accounts Data Service runs on the computer or server where your Sage 50cloud Accounts data is held. The service acts as a gateway and controls the reading and writing of data.
Using this service increases the robustness of the system, improves data security and helps to optimise performance. Occasionally you may need to manually stop and restart the service. This article explains how to do this.
Error: “You cannot login at present because (username) is in (program area) on machine (computer name)”
You may see this message when opening Sage 50cloud Accounts if someone else is working, or appears to be working, in an exclusive zone. Follow the steps in this article to resolve this message.
This guide explains how to create a backup of your company data in Sage 50cloud Accounts.
Did you know that you have the option to audit transactions in Sage 50 Accounts?
There is a great tool in Transactions > Accounts Audit. There are multiple options including invoices not updated or printed, identify purchase orders which have been delivered but not invoiced, even transactions not using the standard rated tax code
Any stock records amended directly in Sage 50cloud Accounts will be identified by the sync and synchronised with Cim50. This may take up to 30 seconds to be reflected in Cim50.
Changes made to records in Cim50, or transactions posted from Cim50 will be updated to both systems real time and will go through regardless of the status of the sync.
In v2020.2 and above Cim50 checks your license hourly against the license server. The message is showing you that it was unable to connect at the time/s shown.
This could ether be a connectivity error on your server (E.g., no internet access at that time) or the license server is down for maintenance, it will continue to check your license hourly despite the message.
The only time this will become an issue is if it is unable to connect for 30 days (at which point the license would expire)
When trying to login into Cim50 you may a receive a red cross stopping you from logging in. There are several reasons why you can’t log in, the specific reason can be found be hovering over the red cross and the correct action can then be taken.
We hope these guides will be of assistance, however, if you wish to discuss these further, please contact the support team by clicking the button at the bottom of this newsletter.
